About us

Oxted Carnival started in 1966, and has become a tradition to be held on the first Saturday of July and organised by the Oxted Carnival Committee. The aim of the Oxted Carnival Committee is to organise the annual carnival for the entertainment of the local community, whilst raising funds to be distributed to local charities and worthy causes.

Every year we have local businesses running stalls in Master Park, along with a BBQ, entertainment, and the traditional procession around Oxted’s High Street.

The Carnival couldn’t be made possible without the committee arranging everything behind the scenes, our sponsors who help us raise money for the local charities, our stall holders, entertainers, the people in our procession, and our volunteers who help us ensure the day runs smoothly.

If you would like to get involved in the upcoming carnival, please find all the information you need in the ‘Get Involved’ tab!

Starting in 1966, The Oxted Carnival is now an annual event held on the first Saturday of July. It’s free to attend and all proceeds go to local charities. We have a small collection of photos taken throughout the years.

The History

Oxted Carnival has been running since 1966, and has become a treasured part of the community. We do have some photos from more recent years, but would absolutely love to see photos from older carnivals!

If you do have photos you are happy to share, please email them to

On The dAy

The carnival procession starts at Master Park and travels along the streets of Oxted as shown on the map.

Make sure you get a good spot to cheer everyone on!

On Carnival day Master Park will open at 7am and parking is available on the park until 11:30am. After 11:30am there will be NO PARKING in Master Park or in the car park on Church Lane. This is to enable any large floats to enter the park safely and ensure the safety of any gathering participants.

After 2:30pm Master Park car park re-opens for collection of children, props, etc.

If your child is starting at The Library parking is available on Saturday at the Tandridge Council Offices.

There are a number of alternative car parks in Oxted. Please see Parking in Oxted for alternatives.
